Im looking for a suv or truck with 4wd i found a 95 explorer xlt with the v6 4.0 it looks good and has a great price but high mileage (212,000 miles). Anyways i just want to know how much longer the explorer would be expected to last with this kind of mileage. I drove it around everything seems good engine idles fine. To buy or not to buy?

try pulling the oil filler cap off when the engine is idling, if the idle drops, surges, or changes in any way it means the motor is starting to go. If its a stock engine after 212k i highly doubt everything is fine.

Reliability depends on the owner(s)

IMO, it doesn't matter what make/model. You're taking a chance buying a 12 year old vehicle with 212,000 miles. An even bigger chance if the seller can't provide you with the maintenance history.
For a great price, it would have to be no more than $2,000 for me to consider.

I love my Explorer, but with all due respect if I were going to get a truck with 212K miles on the original engine, it would have to be either a good friend's truck or very nearly free.
