This weekend i was three hours into a four hour trip and my explorer started shaking when i gave it gas. It finally died and i had to tow it home. Now that it has cooled down it runs fine. I assume it is heat related but not sure what it is. Can someone help me please and thank you. Oh it wad like 110a degrees that day and we were going 75 mph on interstate.

explorer shakes when giving gas

Most likely your converter or converters are clogged...When the heat builds up they will normally act in that fashion if they are clogged. Its a pain in the ass but pull them out and looking into them to see if they are really clogged...if they are you got 2 options 1st and cheapest hammer and screw driver and gut them out which will give you more flow and power...Option 2 is buy new ones which you can get fairly cheap universal ones and have them welded in or direct replacement ones...
