So I am buying back my old 92' Explorer from my cousin and the only issue it has is the Slave cylinder is broken. I have heard that I need a specialized tool to get it out? if so who has an idea of what it might be? and how do I go about getting the cylinder itself out? (lines are already bled from what I understand)

I've replaced the slave (twice), and the only "specialized" tool I can think of is a small tool to disconnect the fitting in the hydraulic line going from the master to the slave. But it's not needed! I used a very small flat blade screwdriver. I've seen enough stories here about people buying that tool and still having a hard time getting the line undone.
Other than that, you need about 3 feet work of socket extensions to reach the top couple bolts on the bellhousing, and a transmission jack would make life easier, but I did it without one the first time.
There's threads here on the whole procedure if you search...

The real killer on that line fitting is the white ring that pushes into the slave connector and allows the line to come off. I learned this recently when I replaced the Master Cylinder in my 93' Sport.

There are at least 2 types of plastic rings that go on the quick-release fitting, one that has a hard-flanged out edge, and another that is just a round piece of plastic, both have a "V" cut into them to make them removable. The one without that flanged out edge is a total b**** to use and I literally finished chewing mine up with a little computer toolkit screwdriver (flat-head) to the point of being unusable during the MC install. I wound up snagging a flanged one off a 91' Ranger at the junkyard and now removing the quick-release with the tool is a breeze, probably would be without as well. It seems the 91's and 92's with the black slave to master connector have the flanged version of the white ring.

okay, thank you guys I really appreciate it, i was looking under it again today and towards dropping the transmission, I see the transmission mount but there is another mount that the control arms connect into that goes over the front side of the transmission and my exhaust pipe sits right below part of the transmission, do I need to remove all of that before dropping it or does it drop a different way than most vehicles?

I have a 98 with a new style slave that has the plastic sleave but there is a metal clip that holds it in. my problem is when I get pressure back on it the line pops out of the slave. the slave is a yr old but when it does it the pedal gets hard so my buddy snapped the linkage off the master. I replaced the master. I know the lines going all the way in too or there is no way id get good pedal for a few mins. no leaks it just finally pops out. Does anybody think it could possibly be a worn out clip?

You can also get those two bolts at the top of the bell housing without the 3' of extensions that RangerX mentioned...when I pulled my transmission from the 93 and put it in my 91 (and later took it out again to replace the broken slave), I got those two bolts loose by climbing up and laying on the engine, reaching down between the engine and firewall. Wasn't real comfortable, but it worked and I could easily reach the bolts...put them back in the same way too...
