- 98 and 02 Explorer Sprt
I am not a mechanic, don't wanna be one, but also know that if I go to the dealer to have this fixed they will take me for "ride" financially... I have two Explorer Sprts (98 and 02) and BOTH of them have the rubber buttons on the steering wheel disintegrating and becoming gooey nasty messes and I want to know what other options are for replacing them, in other words, can replacements be purchased and can I get someone else to put them on? And where would I get replacements? I don't have time to read through all of your threads because I am always working but what I found so far looks like lovely detailed instructions on how to "do it yourself" but I am not going that route... Any advice? And can replacement be purchased that won't distintegrate?
