Explorer torque steer redux

Hi All, I've recently purchased a 2018 Explorer Limited. I am experiencing a lot of torque steer. I admit I have a heavy foot. A little history, I also own a 2017 Explorer XLT and prior to that I owned a 2012 XLT. I've never experienced this problem before. I took it to the local Ford dealer and they said it's "normal" and found nothing to fix. Based on my experience, this is not "normal" and indeed bad to the point I feel it's somewhat dangerous.

So my question is, are there any experts here that know where I can point my dealer to look. I've read that Ford does have mitigations in place for this (some reference to EPAS and others) but I'm hoping for some good advice here.

Welcome to the forums! What you are experiencing is the front wheel drive bias of these Explorers. I don't know why your feeling it more in the '18 than the '12, unless one is a 3.5n/a and the other a 2.3T. Isn't really a lot you can do about it other than easing up on the throttle off the line

I had a 2011 Limited and 2017 Platinum and I don't have a "heavy foot" and never really experienced torque steer. Didn' notice it either in the 2014 MKT I once had.

Check your alignment, Any bit of toe out and you will be all over the road on these.

One thing to check are the front lower control arm bushings. That generation Explorer suffers from those bushings wearing out prematurely. You'll get some torque steer from the arm rocking back and forth and playing hell with the caster and toe when you step on the gas.
