Sup dudes.
MY first vehicle ever was a 95 Explorer XLT. I bought it in 2001 when I was 18. I loved that truck. I drove in from So Cal to Alaska where it spent two winters. It turned over every morning. I kept it for about 7 years. When I finally got rid of it, it had about 220,000 miles on the original engine. Goddamn was she good to me.
I am now looking to buy another used Explorer. I have my eye on a 98 Mountaineer. The truck is in great shape, has low miles, and the price is right. The only thing keeping my from buying it now is the fact that it's AWD. I know very little about AWD Explorers, so I signed up here to do some research and learn if the AWD is problematic.
So that's my deal. I'm off to the transfer case board to do some reading and pose some questions.
