I didn't know where to put this, so it goes HERE for now.

On my way home from my trip to Medford, Oregon (to Bremerton, WA) I found a 'rabbit' in the way of a Chevy TrailBlazer, we followed him for about 2 hours. Speed limits in Oregon along I-5 top out at 65, but go down to 40-45 in the curves. After about an hour or so of traveling at about 60-75 mph, this Acura Integra comes up on both of us and wants to play. I got over to let him by, and so does the TB. As we get back into the passing lane and he gets into 'slow' lane to pass a car ahead and he gets blocked in by a big rig. By this time we are about to pass him again, and he tries to get in our lane. At this point I'm doing exactly 65mph as we are about to take on a 6% grade hill (pretty steep for an interstate). I punched it prevent him from 'squeezing in'. He heard my exhaust (3" custom catback)and tried to down shift his car, he fugged up somehow because he dropped back a few car lengths as I heard his car rev to what seemed like 8k!

When we got to the top of the hill, the Acura was up on my @$$ again. I stayed in the lane a few more miles, and was getting ready to take another hill. Same scenerio, almost exaclty as before, only this time I was in the lead and we were doing about 75-80. At the top of the hill I finally get out of the guys way, he blows by us doing what seemed like 95-100 mph. Not far ahead was a speed trap. Next thing I know there is a Oregon State Patrol car coming up FAST on me. I get out of the way PRAYING that it he didn't clock ME going that fast. Just as I get out of the way he blow by me heading straight for the little white Acura......I say to my wife, "he's got less than a 1/2 mi. and he'll light them up".......Just then, he pulls the guy in the Acura over...

A few miles down the road I let the guy in the TB pass me.....as he did, he looked over at me with a HUGE grin on his face, and gave me the
I smiled back and gave him the  too. It was so hillarious. I loved it!

Classic case of "where's a cop when you need one"!

I love it when that happends. (Stupid ricers) Glad you didn't get busted! I bet you almost crapped your pants when you seen the cop, huh?

I know the  feeling. Since i've been driving (7 1/2 years), i've been cited for speeding 7 times, ***Knocking on wood*** but have been "clean" for about 2. I still to this day travel 15-25 mph over the limit and too often does my detector go crazy and scare the **** out of me (usually Motorola cell interference - not sure y, but it affects the BEL detector and the pioneer head unit). I don't do much interstate (I-90) driving (65mph), but the branches off I-90 here are all 55mph. What's "nice" is that there are very few areas on these highways where a speed trap can be setup (divided highways w/concrete medians.

I love stupid ricers!

LOL, silly ricer, thats a great story

Yeah I was on the line with a new Corvette and I started to rev my kickass V6 to show him I could win. He thought I was a challenge but little did he know there was a cop behind him. We start to race and of course he blows by me, I let off the gas at 35. Little do you know the cop throws on his lights, blazes past me, and pulls the guy over. Hahah he got a ticket for out doing a Explorer. What a waste of money I had no chance in hell.

Everything above sounds cool....................if you're 18.

I gotta be honest. I did the same crap when I was younger. It was a nice "rush" to have. You gotta keep in mind; you can't be lucky all the time when you play those kinds of games on the road.

Me? I wised up at 21 when I nearly sides swipe another Camaro just like mine in a dark 4 way intersection with no traffic lights or signs. From then on, I started driving normal (read: no games). I know it won't be long before my luck runs out. And my "close call" days are soon be over. So I better save them up while I still have some left.

Sorry to ruin your fun there, bud. Happy safe drivin' :)

Okay.

Good for you, you want a cookie ??? I'll even put m & m's in them for ya ;) I think you may have had one too many raw eggs BUD  I don't think this story is nearly as bad as you make it out to be

haha, i love when that happens!

75 mph is NOTHING in these Explorers. The speed limit was 65, so I was doing 10 over. I know FOR A FACT that I was clocked doing 70-80 mph all day long from other cops along I-5. I never got pulled over. If everyone on the road KNEW HOW TO DRIVE, and WHEN NOT TO DRIVE FAST, there would be ALOT less accidents on the road......but as such there are ALOT of these 'kids' on the road that have NO FRIGGEN' CLUE on how to drive, how to drive fast, and when to drive slow.......I know how to drive. I know how to drive fast. I know when to drive slow.

I'm probably what you would consider a kid, i know how to speed, when to go fast when to go slow, i got clocked on 65 going 91, there was no one around me within a quarter of a mile, me and my friend were both 18 at the time. I was going over 91 at one point down a hill, i regret it and im not saying it was right, but i believe i was doing it safely, the funny thing is a mercedes benz drove by me when i was going around 80, well when i say drove i mean flew by me. i was inbetween two groups of cars and this guy must have been going 100, about a minute later im being pulled over, most likely because i was the one that slowed down when i saw traffic! haha oh well, i left my speeding days behind me, i go 15 at max, usually only 5.

After 2 tickets and the fear of flipping a lifted Explorer, I rarely speed.

I haven't had a ticket in six years. :hammer:

However I almost lost my license for 162 mph hour in a 65,
Followed by a 110 in a 25 (coupled with drag racing).

Three observations from those two experiences

That's too fast for me to ever attempt to travel again. If I hadn't stopped for the cop, I had to anyway, I could barely keep the front end from drifting away, and I was scared s**tless.

Red and Blue lights are an awesome marker for the quarter mile. And it is even better when the Camaro back there behind you actually stops. But it really sucks when the cop knocks on your door an hour later even though the Mustang is in the garage hiding.

Last thought. What a idiot I was. How lucky I amto have an opportunity to enjoy my life and watch my daughter grow.... The speed limit will due for me. Now how quickly I get there is another story.

im with dreamr on this one.... i still drive faster teh ni should.. but im worried abotu screwing up now.... i dotn drive anywhere near liek i used to... you learn to just let things pass... when you have a kid, your whole world changes.... the stupid stuff you used t odo doenst get done anymore.... and its not losing my manhood, its being a man.... i will alwyas drive responsibly when my daughter is in the car.. but what about when she isnt? i will drive the same way... if anything happens to me, its going to suck for her and indy trying to raise her alone... i will do everything i can to ensure that my jen has a father......

not a chance in hell i would ever go that fast in the "X", thats crazy

if your talking about dreamr i think he went that fast in a mustang...

My X has never been above 110, and not above 90 since it got lifted. Around here, if you aren't doing at least 80 when you get off the entrance ramp your gonna get squeezed out by a semi!

However, I agree with j602, the lifted X thing has me spooked on anything with a slight curve in the road.

That's what I had my motorcycle for....150mph straightaways and 90mph corkscrew off/on ramps. But even that I sold 'cause it got a little scary lifting the front wheel at every light.

I'd like to live to see my kids grow up now.
