I'm researching the parts needed to build me dream 4X4 Exploder and have settled for most of the parts needed but they are all made for a Ranger 4X4. What's the difference? For instance, I want to run either Donahoe or Camburg Extended Radius arms that are made for a Ranger. Should they bolt right on? The Donahoe ones come with a modified trans. cross member. If it's designed to mount on a Ranger will it mount on an Exploder. I'm also looking at getting either Camburg or Autofab reworked beams so that I can have 6" of lift without using drop down brackets. These also will have mounts added for coilover shocks. Are the Ranger 4X4 beams the same as Ranger beams? any ideas on what kinda problems I'll run into using Ranger parts would be great!!!!!!!

I am not sure, but i do know that the new ranger and new explorer have the same front end. It would make sense that the older ones do also.

Check out the sites below.

and WWW.RANGERSTATION.com

They should help greatly!

Khris - Someone asked this on the race-dezert.com board. I'm almost positive that Explorer front ends are wider. If you get widened beams for a Ranger (if they're widened enough) you might end up with a stock track width or maybe slightly wider.

Yeah, actually I talked to the guys at Baja Concepts yesterday and they said that the Explorer Beams are about 1" wider. The radius arms are the same though. I got my Exploder back from the gear shop last night and WOW what a difference!! Much better everywhere except for top speed which is fine cause I just cruise anyways. My next purchase is going to be end of Nov. begining of Dec. I'm gonig to get a set of Donahoe's radius arms w/heim joints and his tranmission cross member that they mount to. I'm not sure exactly how much longer they are but if you crawl under your ride and look at where your stock crossmember is (not the skid plat 6" behind it) that's where mine will be bolted tot he frame at. They are $100 cheaper then Camburg's and they come with a new trans cross member.
