I’m new here, I recently bought a 2000 Ford Eddie Bauer edition, 4.0
Got home the other day and it wouldn’t start the next morning. Cranks non stop.
Brand new battery, new alternator, new fuel pump, new fuel filter. I’ve checked and it has fuel pressure, the plugs have spark. The pump is engaging, and the fuel cut off switch has not been triggered. No issue with the theft light. I believe that’s all of it, I’m just at a complete loss here. Hoping someone has an idea, thank you. Also I know if could be injectors, but all going out at once is very unlikely.

Check your Crankshaft Position Sensor for poor connection.

I assume you have the SOHC engine being it's a 2000 E.B. ....did you hear any rattling at engine just prior to this situation (timing chain rattle) ?

Thanks for the reply, I had thought about that. But from what I was told if I’m reading rpm on scanner while cranking. It shouldn’t be a problem, is this misinformation?

You would be correct, it is the SOHC, and no rattle at all, I can check the timing chain though. At this point I’ll try anything.

Also going to try some starting fluid to see if I can atleast narrow it to a fuel or electric problem.
