Well, he replied (kind of)

First of all...his message was written in bright blue "Comic Sans" bold and about 18 point. Pretty damn hard to read. He said:


I took the car to my best friend, who is a mechanic, he charged me $2500,

model, looks great, there are some more additions than in the pictures, its

a great buy at 6k, i had a buyer at 8.5 2 months ago, but hesitated to sell.


So...he didn't answer any of my questions. I emailed him back with:


Turbo...I wanted to know about the TURBO. Or were you just making that up?


And he responded with:

The turbo is a airpowered booster with maxcool airflow system.


So, we can deduce:

He's a momo.
This is his "choch-wagon".
He doesn't know a damn thing about engines.
He has no taste.

That concludes todays lesson in what not to do with an X.

maybe he really does have a turbo... but is to far gone on crack to be able to tell you anything about it.

E-mail him back and ask for pictures of the engine bay. I'm really curious to see what his 'mechanic friend' might have done.

$2500 will not even begin to pay for all the stuff needed to add a turbo to our engines. The turbo alone (that would have to be specially made) would probably top that figure.

IF he sells that thing, he needs to tell me the buyer's name. I might could sell mine to a family member for around $21,000 judging by his price.

Did I forget to tell you guys that Im selling my explorer with a 20" cusom lift, and 43 inch super swampers, that gets 99 mpg mixed. Im selling it for $200. It runs on tap water, so dont worry about the gas. And as for oil, and all fluids, they are my own synthetic blend and you never have to change them again. Also, the whole thing is made out of pure iron.

Guys please. Let the man be. He is simply out to sell an explorer and be about his way. He doesn't need us bothering him question what he wrote. It maybe a lie.....who knows, it maybe true. Either way we need to hold ourselves above playing childish games with them. I understand talking about it in the forum, but when he is contacted and brought into this it becomes an entire different story.

Talk about him all you want........just leave him be. We're above that.

The reason I contacted the guy was not for (purely) childish reasons. Yes, it was assumed that he really didn't have the turbo, but what if he did? That could have meant quite a lot to members of this group. You will notice that I was quite polite to the guy, and did not once insult him or anything of the like. I'm not trying to start an argument, and I do agree that useless badgering of the guy is pointless, I was actually curious about the turbo.
