As you all know by now, a bunch of F150s have been recalled because of a faulty cruise control switch that starts underhood fires. The fires have started even after the trucks have been shut off for several hours. Well, I heard on the news today that the recall was extended to certain years of Rangers and Explorers. There were no specifics on the newscast, but I'm sure more will be known in the next few days.
The switch in question is the one that attaches to the brake master cylinder. Unplugging it will render it safe, but will also deactivate the cruise control.
