oh yes i know oregan inlet. you know when you go into the entrance and there is usualy a few puddles and there is that one that always stays there? well i drone into that one and got into about a 4' deep hole. i sucked water into the motor and had to get towed and all of my fluids drained and flushed.

i used to camp down in Frisco on hatteras Island. it is nice on the sound side. i mainly went down to ride the waves but when my family blossomed we went down and played in the water and drove on the beaches.

how far from the the App parkway are you? there are some state parks with ORV trails. the only ones i have been on are much more north than where you are. some nice trails in the shenadoah valley too.

THUMBS DOWN ON THE WATER MAN.

Beaches = YES
Sand = YES
Ocean = NO

VERY EXPENSIVE I'M SURE.

YES GOOD TRAILS THROUGH THESE VA MOUNTAINS... ALOT I WILL NOT TOUCH WITH THE EX SEVERAL I WILL AND SHOULDN'T AND SOME I HAVE AND WON'T AGAIN.

John Stanley and I are getting together this weekend to go play in some trails that cross rivers.

FUN FUN

He's on the site to lives in Rocky Mount 45min. away so we hooked up on site and decided to play in the dirt.

Hey there 4xNeighbor! I tried to give you a call last night, but you didn't answer and I rarely leave voice messages. Too bad we didn't go yesterday. All that rain we got would have made some good mud. Next weekend is cool. I'll get my work schedule today and let you know when I can go.

There's another member who lives in Roanoke also. timfretwell is his board name. I was going to go wheeling with him, but can't seem to reach him with PM's or e-mails. I'll try again though. Maybe he'll want to go to.

Oh yeah. 45 minutes away? When I drive, it only takes about 20 minutes to get to Tanglewood Mall from here. Then again, I do take back roads with no traffic and tend to move along pretty quickly. :D

Dead Link Removed

here is a thread on the mas that is active. some of our questions are answered in it.

I do miss the mountains. I spend a week every summer in Black Mountain NC at my friend's house. This summer my wife and son and I got to go to the Pisgah forrest and find some trails.

Some places i used to go when i lived in VA were Rose River near Staunton and Culpepper and Crab Tree Falls Which is an hour southwest of Staunton. Also white oak falls which is in the same area. most of my time on vacation is spent at Black Mountain or Asheville.

if you ever make it to Florida you can hook up with me and the FL EX Club for soem good old muddy, sand dune, hot, clay pit fun.

In that MAS thread they arn't talking about a 95 or 96 explorer. I think we have established that we are unable to upgrade without modifying the entire half of the air box which is much more costly then a $110 sensor. For some reason the 95 and 96 explorers are different from the rest.The guy with the 97 V-8 has a MAS that is upgradable because it's a V-8. it's all different. same thing with that 91. his is totally different too.
I hope this clears up any confusion and if I may be mistaken, please let me know as I would like a larger MAS if it were possable.

wouldnt the one like mdrut is talking about (on the other thread) work if it were just he housing allowing more in?

No. the housing is totally different. the one he is talking about looks like the ones you see on this following website:

http://www.carparts.com/parts/newse...&parttypeid=3008&itemid=1364&autoidsearch=YES

That website is yet another example of mistake by the sellers. If you look under the hood of the 95 you will not see a unit that looks like those do anywhere. plus the ad says 91-95. it should read 91 -94, but they didn't catch their mistake.
I was trying to find pics under the hood of a 95 and a newer or older model so I can show what I mean in pictures, but I can't find any.

Ok, here's a pic I found of a 94 or older setup. note the red thing after the airbox is the MAS.
engine2.jpg

I was unable to find a 95+ picture, but on the 95/96 explorer you will not see that unit after the airbox. That is because the MAS is contained in the box itself.

I hope this clears up any confusion
