I put the Duff 2.5" lift in this weekend. It was about 12 hours of knucklebusting, but it's great. The only thing I don't like now is that the rubber front brake lines look like they could stretch and break at full axle articulation. Has anyone had this happen? Where can I get extended brake lines? What do stainless lines cost and where can I get them?

You really will want to get longer brake lines. When I installed my Rancho kit, they gave me these brackets to lower the upper hose mount. I installed it, but did not like it. Really looked like a kludge.

I got longer steel braided brake lines from Explorer Pro Comp. Easy to install, and the alignment guys like them, too - it is much easier for them to get to the caster/camber adjuster lock bolt.

Thanks for the info. I'll contact Pro Comp.

When we installed our 2.5 Duff kit we noticed the same thing. I picked up a set of steel braided lines from Dick Cepek (but they aren't around here anymore). It is an easy change and should be <$100 for the lines.

When I installed the JD lift on my old explorer, I ordered some Skyjacker extended brake lines. I originally ordered them from Rocky Mountain Suspension(big mistake, but that is a whole other story). Anyway, dealing directly with Skyjacker, I found that they are more than helpful and are more than willing to correct mistakes or aid in anyway possible.
There is something that you have to be careful of thought. In mid-93, Ford changed over to 4-wheel ABS. This 4-wheel ABS requires a different driver side line than the 2-wheel ABS vehicles. As a matter of fact, the 4-wheel ABS requires two passenger lines from the 2-wheel ABS kit. Not a problem, but it is something that you might want to check for before you order.
Hope this helps a little, take care, and happy exploring!
