ok my transmission has been acting really wired for the past few months but has gotten progressivly worse.

when i accelerate it takes 2 or three tries to shift out of first

at random times there are delayed shifts

when i punch it it will up shift then it will downshift

it will accelerate faster with the torque converter locked at 1500 rpm then with it slipping at 3000

in 4low the shifts are extremly delayed (not sure if this is bad)

when going downhill or applying the brakes without overdrive engaged the rpms will fall to 300 and almost stall for a breif second than come back to normal

there is a small amount of slipping in 2nd

i have tried this with and without the apten with the same results. the fluid is the proper level and red. I am gonna take it to the dealer soon is this type of thing covered by extended warranty. and what am i looking at to repair this

Isn't tranny fluid suppose to be pink? (the pink having a noticable diff from red).
About dropping to 300rpm... I get that sometimes as well when I come to a complete stop. I think I just need to clean my IAC for that to be fixed.

Just some other things you might wanna list... miles, when you last had fluid changed.. if you tow a lot, etc etc.

First thing I would do is get your codes read.
And what did you mean it takes two or three times to get outta first?

it has 78 thousand on it now the fluid was changed 20k ago. i meant that the fluid is pink (the normal color) i have never towed anything. i also thought it was the iac so i replaced it with no change the overdrive light is not flashing and when it about he 1st shifting it will try and shift into second and will feel exactly like it doees when it shifts but will remain in first. it used to only do it at high rpms but now does it all the time. one in a while it wil not do itfor one shift but this is very rare

anyone

It sounds like the governer is sticking. I'm not real familer with aode's. But that what my aod did when I first swaped it in. I replaced it and the problem went away. The aode's might be eletronicly controled. Did you try your Ford dealership?

i am gonna call them tomorrow i have the electronicaly controled 5r55e if that helps
