has anyone ever tried to put the newer f-350 side mirrors on an ex? i thought this would give mine the more tankish look im slowly achieving, and a bigger viewing area becuase now i cant see the ground when they are adjusted how i like. if anyone has an ex and an f-350 can you tell me what the mounting difference is, thanx,
Chris

Are you talking the newer 99+ Superduty extending towing mirrors? Well actually if its the SD style mirrors no matter which ones they are (they all mount the same) that it won't work without ALOT of custom work. Even then I think you're going to have a very crappy looking install. I have both and I can tell you that the mounting is different, but the sheer size is the problem. It can be done, just depends what kind of looks you're willing to put up with and how much money you're willing to dump.

yeah, not even close.

sorry

well i like the style anyways, maybe i will make some... from the stock plate, two crossmembers and the stock mirror turned up, with extended wires to keep it electric, i dont know, it just popped into my head...

get them off ebay and glass the rods from the SD in the x one...shouldn't take but a few tries... make a mold of the one you got and massage the SD one to fit... if i like the style i would give it a go. 30-100 bucks plus cost of mirror if you take you time and do it right

It's a cool idea, but I think it would look a little goofy - maybe not
