1996 explorer xlt 2x4/4x4
Hi first time posting. I love the site. Every time I run into a problem with me new 96 explorer ltx. I just hit up this site on my free time and soon get it all fixed up. So I need some help now.
I have a 96 for explorer I had it for about a year now and it’s the best car I had. But... it keeps getting the broke into and both door locks are now all jacked-up dew to "them"(would be jackers?) trying to lock-snatch them or something.(even when the car was unlocked) I have replaced all my door glass one time now and done some body work to fix pry marks to the door window jams. I knew the car had an alarm but the horn did not work so I fixed that only to fix out that the alarm only sounds went the door itself is opened. (Really...what good is that) my girl's car (2007 G5 Pontiac) will sound if you, hit, sit, lean, or even lift the handles let alone open the doors, trunk, hood, or brake the glass.
I am still learning my way around the newer Ford. I made a jump from a stripped 91 Mazda to a fully loaded 96 explorer ltx. So I’m a little weary of the computer in the car. So my Q. is can I add a sock sensor and glass brake sensor, to my stock alarm? If so, How? Step by step, if you have picks even better. The wrecking yard is running out of parts!
I think I seen something that said you can but the guy had a different car.

There was no stock alarm, it´s just a keyless entry that honks the horn if you open a door.

You will have to go aftermarket if you want additional protection.
There´s a how to around here from a guy who added additional sensors to the stock keyless; you can install an add'on system; or you can install a full featured alarm.

Good luck and welcome to the forum!
