Factory Alarm Question?

I must start by saying I am new to this board...I have a question for someone who knows alot about the electrical system in a 1997 Explorer...Is there a way to add another horn so when the factory alarm goes off the new horn will sound but I will still be able to use my old horn (factory) for when I beep the horn? If that is possible here is my next question...can I keep the new added horn steady like bbbeeeepppp, instead of the traditional beep, pause, beep, pause, beep, pause, etc...????????

First let me start by welcoming you to the site! You'll find answers to all your questions here, and questions you never even knew you had. One tip for using this forum: the search feature is your best friend.

On to your question: I added an airhorn set to my Explorer. I originally wanted it to be activated by my normal horn button, and did much investigating into the horn and alarm system. Basically, anything can be done, it just might take a lot of time and work. After poking around and looking at wiring diagrams 'til my eyes popped out, I decided just to wire the new horns to a separate button and not mess with the factory stuff. So sorry to be pessimistic, but I don't think your ideas can be done easily. There may be other members on the board, though, who've had more luck than I have.
