I have the factory alarm installed on my 2006 xlt. I have a question that has been bothering me ever since I bought my Ex. How do I lock the doors with out turning the alarm on? I have tried pushing the door lock button, and that doesn't work. When you push the key fob once fifteen seconds later the Ex honks its horn and flashes parking lights to indicate the alarm is now activated. If you push the button twice it just honks louder, and activates the alarm quicker. The same thing happens if I press the lock door lock button, fifteen seconds later the alarm is on.
On the 2006 + models there isn't one of those little things that sticks up on the rear gate that indicates weather or not the door is locked. That means manually locking each door is not an option because you cannot lock the rear gate, (no key hole on rear gate).
So no one thinks I have not thought of it, there is a valet mode I can activate by turning the key forward three times in the ignition. Are there any other options that don't require as much work???
