Well, guess what, it turns out that I have a premier factory system. Weird huh, turns out the autoset button on my stereo means that. This means that I have a factory amp. I have wired up my bypass and everything and all I have to do is route it tomorrow and I will be finished with my install. But I am kinda curious what the wattage is on that amp, not to see if I want to use it or anything, but just to compare to my deck (23 watts rms). Thanks, if anyone knows this give me a holler.

peace

"Premium Systems are rated at 80 Watts RMS @ 10% THD"

say what???

other than the fact that it is a pain to wire the amp to use it with the indash, what is the reasoning behind sacrificing that kind of power?

It's the 10% total harmonic distortion. The sound quality of the stocker sucks. And I believe that all explorers until 1998 had the seperate factory amp.

yeah, i am thinking its 4x20, cause 80 would have blown my pioneers by now I bet

yeah i did not notice the distortion, but yeah, i am bypassin the thing

thanks all
