Factory speakers question

I have a 98 x limited all wheel drive v8 with premium dual media system. I went 2 add a powered sub. Pulled door panels 2 ck out the speakers and noticed each speaker has a red dot and blue dot close 2 where the speaker wire plug connects 2 the speaker,the front speakers have these red and blue dots switched opposite the way the rear speakercs are. I'm guessing these one color is 4 + the other - so why wouldnt all speakers be the same way? I hooked the powered sub up 2 the back door speakers,guessing blue was positive, i dont have any of the door panels installed yet,could this b reason the sound sux? Till i noticed the wiring bein reversed from front 2 back and befor powered sub hooked up, i thought there was decient sound,seems really distorted now. Anyone have any ideas here on this?

i cant tell you much about that ..but i can tell you i have the same premium in my 2000 sport and it sounds really nice..has some bass to it too..my friend works in audio and he said it has bass expecially for stock

i've always thought mine sounded pretty good 4 factory till i pulled door panels then removed speakers 2 look at the wires 2 the terminals.whatever u do,never seperate the gril from speaker,if u do u will tear the speaker at the boarder,they glued the gril directly 2 the speaker,found out when i went 2 remove gril 2 get a good look at the speakers.there not nearly as good a grade as i first thought,i have a 98 gtpx grand prix supercharged,u should c the factory setup in it,came with 2 woofers and all componet speakers,12 in all.the quality surpasses fords speakers in the exporers by leaps n bounds.

yeah..I am going to put 4 alpine type s speakers in mine and two 10 inch woofers in the back..i think that will have a great sound.. my friend had the same setup in his truck and it was nice
