I got rear-ended last monday and the insurance people came to look at my car and give "their" estimate on the damage. The Total came to $659.74, that is replacing the rear bumper, splash guard, upper and lower bumper mouldings, and labor for replacing them.
They would not cover the cost of the bumper brackets because they said they couldn't physically see that they were bent. (the bumper being pushed foward and over about 2" is obviously not proof enough). They said I could remove the bumper and they would come see if there is any further damage to cover. I want to fix this myself and try to keep a little coin in my pocket, thats why I have eliminated using a body shop.
Does that price sound right for fixing my X, or amy I getting hosed?
