I've got a 2005 Ford Explorer XLT 4x4. And the problem I'm having is the fan is only working correctly on speeds 1 & 4, when I put it on 2 & 3 its seems to being blowing at a speed slightly higher than 1. I'm wondering if it could be the blower motor resistor? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

That sounds like the blower motor resistor alright. I change mine out a few months back with the same problem. It is easy to do, at least on the 03 explorer. It is easy to get to, just remove the glove compartment. On my 03, I had to move the 4x4 control module to the side.
