So nothing was wrong with my turn signal bulbs, but a buddy of mine gave me apair of "Jam Straight" LED bulbs "3157" (for ford applications).

We all know the normal tick...tock, tick...tock pace of the turn signals in our exploders. After the bulb swap, I am now getting a very fast paced signal, on both sides.

Is this normal with the Jam Straight brand bulbs? Or is something not going right? Should I replace the bulbs with the normal ones?

Just want to make sure i'm not gonna fry anything in the long run with these brand of LED bulbs.

Thanks,

-Evan

Pulled the bulbs, threw them away. I don't need to go through all that just for SUPER bright turns signals anyhow -.-

Thanks for the info there Hawaii!

from what i understand, the problem with the LED bulbs causing fast flashing is that the LED's don't have enough resistance to make the flasher work correctly. hence the flasher flashes as though there's a bulb out. the auto parts store sell a little gizmo, in the bulb ilse, that goes between the LED bulb and your socket (i think that's where you put it) it adds resistance to the circuit, which makes the bulb flash at a more normal speed.

From the looks of it, these little resistor things need to get hardwired somewhere in the line that sends power to the bulb. Right?

Or get a different flasher relay.

if it came down to it, it's probably easier to add the resisters than finding and changing that damn flasher... lol. seems to me i've seen LED flasher bulbs that have the resister built into them, but i could be wrong about that.
