I have a 99 limited Explorer. It feels like the front drive is locking up every time you make a turn ( left or right) but more often to the left it seems.It occurs in foward and reverse. It has done it several times now and having problems making a diagnosis. Replaced the brake line on the drivers side thinking that might be the problem but did not help. have taken off both wheels and inspected for any abnormal wear or other type defects. All appears to be clean. All CV boots are intact showing no leakage. I don't want to just start disassembling from the wheels towards the transfer case without some indication where the problem lies. I am sorry I can't be more specific other than the locking up and the noises that happens when is does. If you need any more information please ask and I will get back with you.
