I just changed my plugs in my 2006 Explorer at 110,000 miles. I used the small impact method. All came out in 1 piece, even one by hand as strange as that seems. I have owned it for 3 years ( 2nd owner)

You need to buy a lottery ticket....today.

I had the spark plug removal tool on standby, lol.

I replaced my plugs and coil packs about 6 months ago. I was so scared after reading many of the posts about them breaking. I was really surprised how easy it was. I used a ratchet with a long extension after soaking with PB Blaster for about an hour. At first, I just cracked them loose, then worked them the rest of the way. It wasn't nearly as scary as many have made it out to be. I was very surprised (or very lucky).

And I'm still waiting to hit the lottery!

Yes

sometimes even leslie does not help.
One of mine broke below the hex nut leaving the shield and the thread in the head.
I had to drill the head and put some Frankenstein bushing I bought at Napa
And it was #8 , the worst access.
Held for another 100k

The previous owner replaced ours at around 60,000 (we bought it around 68,000). I'm nearing 120,000, and I think I'll do it this spring/summer.

Good job!...I have to do mine soon.

Did you happen to have a raw gas smell in the cabin before you changed them?...just wondering with the one you had that was hand tight.

Yes had a slight gas smell and a tapping sound that went away after the plugs replaced.

I guess my luck ran out now my super smooth 06 X started throw codes and ran very strange. Had 11 codes and 2 stalls.
