First Gen, 3rd brake light mods

In another thread I talked about shaving the rear hatch.

I wanna shave the high-mount 3rd brake light and re-locate it somewhere.

Anyone got any ideas they wanna share? I'm thinking something simple. Along the lines of the way GM does it in their sedans. On the rear parcel shelf, shining through the glass. I'd like to mount one on the top of the rear window frame, hanging down.

If that can't be made to look right, I was thinking of getting a 3rd brake light from a newer F-150 and mount it in the stock location.

Anyone like these idea? Anyone done it? ANYONE modify the 3rd brake light with something OTHER than a sticker?

I used blackout spray on mine, you said something else besides a sticker.

I've got the same plan as you if/when I decide to get rid of the brake light in my wing.

Has anyone seen a 'Diamond Cut/Clear' 3rd brake light for ANYTHING? I don't care what car it was for, I can make it work, I just wanna find one, and go from there.

A quick search on eBay got me THIS item:

It's for a 2000-2004 Eclipse. all I need now is a template of the hole so I can do this.

I was hoping for something more common to the `yards, like an S-10, Ranger, Fullsize Chevy, of F-series truck.
