Why do you want to keep the sensor hooked up when it no longer functions as it was intended? In stock form the bimetal sensor would allow outside air to be routed to the stock air box after the engine has warmed up. As such if you're using a cone filter and no longer have the stock air box there is no need to have this sensor. You can certainly go ahead and do this mod, butwilson_nick said:how about cutting the sensor off of the box, drilling two holes in the end of the air filter, fish the hoses through the holes and hook up the sensor inside the filter? that's what i'm thinking about doing just to keep the crap hooked up. I already have the filter in there and a wad of electrical tape on the hoses for now. what do you guys think?
- It will have no benefit
- It can lead to a vacuum leak and compromise the vacuum system if the sensor should fail. (The less things to worry about the better)
