I picked up a 94 XLT and it had a few problems. One of them was the 4WD function. With the help of this forum (I was lurking for a while), I managed to pinpoint the problem to the hubs. I had the autohubs and now I have manual Warn units. It was a piece of cake swapping them out, as long as you have the right tools. I picked up the hub tool from NAPA for $20 and I had three different torque wrenches to do the job properly.
Thanks to Matt's write-up
, I now have 4WD again. I could have cleaned the auto hubs but with so many people suggesting to ditch them and get the manual ones. So I did.
Looking forward to reading more tech tips and explore the forum.
