- 1997 Aerostar XLT
Hello, I've heard about tihs website before and decided to find it! I've enjoyed reading the posts.
I live in Indiana and I've owned 3 Aerostars, a 91 whose life ended in a crash with 250K miles on it, a 93 that got over 300K miles before the engine gave up, and now I have a 97 AWD with 223K on it. Just put a new tranny in it and I'm probably looking at a new engine soon, but a couple of years ago I found a guy in Florida who had all kinds of Aerostar parts and I bought new seats, carpet, and several plastic moldings, so it's in great shape. Besides, I just love the room in these vans!
My kids tore the front passenger door handle pull out of the door handle and I can't see a way to repair it, but I'm not having any luck finding a new door panel, either. I'm going to try to figure out how to post something on the WTB parts page next. I called the guy in Florida but he's sold all his inventory so he couldn't help, and he said this was a common problem and that I might have trouble finding a salvaged one. Sooooo, maybe this community can help.
