Has anybody here fitted a roof mounted Flat fold down TV to their explorer.

To keep the kids happy I'm thinking of mounding it behind the sun roof but am consious that the sun roof slides back.

so has anybody had the roof lining off the see what the sunroof slides into?

any help or info appreciated before I start hacking at my roof lining :)

cheers

Jim

hey

im about to do the same thing.

i have airbags in my seat so cant install them there.

my mate in florida has them fitted.2001 year.sunroof slides into its own unit.

Have you though about getting an iPAD instead of the roof mounted TV?

First generation iPADs are very cheap and make excellent media players and it also means you get the additional benefits of using them for games etc. should the kiddies become bored just watching movies ;)

Interesting thought, I'm not sure how I would mount it to the roof, maybe some angle iron to make a frame and door hinges to let it swing from the roof :D

I would not hard mount it - likely to get nicked - but rather use it in a headrest type mount that attaches to the back of the front seats. And with no additional wiring needed, its a fix anywhere device and offers better in car entertainment options IMHO than the stadnard systems we see.

Just MHO!

If you wanted to roof mount it then maybe upvc window hinges???
