Fittings size for Oil & Temp Senders

I just bought some aftermarket guages for my truck and was wondering if anyone could tell me the thread size of the hole where I will be hooking up the new gauges. The Temp sender looks like it is a 3/8"NPT and Oil sender looks like 1/8"NPT. Am I right? Thanks guys.

I think, that the pipe extension for the stock oil sender is 1/4" NPT, if so then you will need a reducing bushing for the 1/8" compression fitting. I suggest that you use the 1/8" copper tubing that is available through Autometer.
For the water temp, I also think that 3/8" is the correct size. If they are Autometer, you should have gotten most of the reducer fittings with the gauges.
Its been a while since I installed my gauges, so someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

You are right, i checked the fittings last night. Oil sender is 1/4"NPT and the water sender is 3/8"NPT. I will try to get some pictures and info to help anyone else once i get the gauges installed.

Did you ever get those pics?

I was curious, I know the computer uses the stock temp sender. How did you get around that? Or does your year not do that? I'm working with a 95, so there may be differences. Does anyone know the stock ohm range of the water temp sender?

I haven't got the pictures yet, I busted my digital camera . The easiest way to use the sotck gauges to is to make T fitting the goes in where the stock sending unit is and then install both units. I had all the fittings here at work but most hardware stores will have everything you need. As for the temp gauge i cut into the radiator hose that feeds back to the radiator and put a T fitting in there so I could keep my stock temp sender where its it at and put the new on in the T fitting.
