I was selling my 91 explorer xlt but now i think i might wanna keep it. i have to do repairs on it though and i cant afford to do a lot of repair in the shop so i was wondering i you could tell me what is relativly easy for me to do, im pretty good at fixing things so that helps, anyway i have to put in new, upper and lower balls joints, new tie rod ends, and radius arm bushings. my cat converter is gone so i will have to just replace it with pipe. fig ure i can do that stuff ? also, whats some cheap upgrades that i can do to get some more hp ?

For upgrades I would juat jump in and start reading all teh posts and reading the members profiles and see what they have and go from there -

Later - :shoot:

Worry about HP later , get that thing safe first.
Ball joints are a pain in the rear but not a nightmare.
You are going to need a pickel fork to separate the ball joints and a heavy hammer or if you can get your hands on an air hammer with a pickel fork that will be your hot ticket. Tie rod ends , when you twist the old end off put a piece of tape there the old one ends , twist the new one back to the old tape mark. Have a few bucks sitting to the side for a front end alingment , since you are dissasembeling your front suspension. Exhaust , get all new hardware you'll be fine.
It wont be too bad of a project. Oh , plenty of PB Blaster ( pennatrant ) will be a huge help too.
