Flashing E-Break Light??

So I am driving home last night and my e-break light is flashing. Should I be concerned about my breaks? When the car is turned on should you be able to push the break pedal all the way down?

I don't want my breaks going out and smashing into someone!

PS I did get in an accedent a few days ago (old lady merged into me, could this have caused the problem?

HMM non one knows? should i check the ABS sensor under the hood? Suggestions

check the stats of your brake pads and the ebrake lines running to the fuses and chips n such. but mostly check the stats of your brake pads. thats what my problem was.
