The other night when i pulled up to the house i noticed my headlights were flickering. I then noticed my voltage gauge was slightly bouncin along with the flicker, cutting the lights off and the bouncing of the gauge almost stopped but was still barely noticable.I put my volt meter on the battery and got 12.9 volts with the truck off and 14.8 with the truck running and lights on.I took all the terminals off and cleaned them even cleaned the wires on the back of the alternator. What do you guys think is causing the flicker?

Oh Boy, Good question. With the motor shut off, do the headlights still flicker? You could have an alternator issue.

No they dont flicker with the lights off

Im betting you have an alternator/charging issue. Im no expert, so others please feel free to chime in.

You lost a diode in the bridge of the alternator.
