I own a 2002 explorer sport 2dr 4X4. I want to lift the rear end up. My first idea was to use a lift block kit, however, the springs are under the rear axle so that is out the window. I wanted to add a leaf, the only one that I could find that would work was a Pro Comp long leaf for $108 bucks. I was plannin on a small one around $30 bucks. I remember hearing that it is very possible to flip the rear springs from below the axle to sit on the top. I work with a few mechanics who think they have a good idea about how to do this but I would like further imput and advice. Anyone know how to do this and could give me a website or information so I can do this. Also let me know of any products I need to make the switch.

Welcome to the site. What you are referring to is called SOA. Spring over axle. It is not recommended if you simply want to lift the rear up since it raises it a good 4-6". If your rear end is sagging, I recommend doing the following things: Install a set of 4 door leaf springs, get a set of aftermarket Warrior Shackles model #153, or get some add a leafs but you would need to get 4 door leafs since the sport models come with mono-leafs from the factory.
