All,

I am having an odd problem on my 2004 V8 RWD Eddie Bauer Explorer. After I crank the car, for about 3 seconds, all of the gauges hesitate to move and then "flutter" or vibrate before moving to thier normal position. After this goes away, there are absolutely no problems whatsoever to report.

The other symptom is that the digital climate control has no memory and must be set every time the car comes on (although it remembers the seat heaters?!?!). When the car is turned on, the climate control reads 75 and off. I have to press Auto, then AC off, then change my temperature and press the Ext. button to get it back to where I left it.

I'm thinking about just disconnecting the negative terminal for about an hour to reset the computer after I get back from my Christmas road trip, but I'm concerned that it might not come back at all. Any thoughts?

Have your battery tested.
