2006 explorer sport trac
Hi Guys
Just found your forum, looks like a lot of good stuff here!
Soooo, I've got an explorer sport trac which I really enjoy. It's been a great, problem free truck.
BUT last Saturday my boys and I were on the highway when we hear this WHUMP sound and looking in the rear view mirror I see my sunroof flying! The sunroof was closed, we were going about 65 mph. Thankfully it didn't hit anybody! Pulled over to take a look and I see that the glass was glued onto flat steel frame, and looks like the glue just "let go". Scared the craxxx out of me.
Before I call the local dealer for a price, are there any "good deals" to be had out there?
Any link to the shop manual page on replacing glass? Do I need to replace whole frame as well?
I'd post a photo but can't find "attachments" link.
Thanks in advance!
Dave

Hey Dave, welcome to EF and I'm glad you've had good luck with your ST so far. I don't have direct experience with sunroofs, but I would imagine most glass shops could replace it for you cheaper than the dealer. Check out Satellite, I've always had good luck with their work and I know they do sunroof replacements as well.

As for posting pictures, I've found the easiest way is to upload to a photo sharing site like Photobucket. From there you copy the image URL address. Switch back to the forum and you can click the little postcard button (right next to the smiley face) in the toolbar of the reply box. Paste the image URL and then it'll post the picture for ya.

Thanks 01STrunner!
Don't know why that didn't occur to me....still in a daze trying to adjust to the time change I guess.
