FM Modulator

Well I'm wanting to hook up my ipod to my stereo yet my headunit doesn't have any aux inputs so my only options are a Modulator or Transmitter. I'm leaning more towards the modulator just because it is wired in and less problems. Here is the one I'm leaning towards. Click

Does any body on here have any experience with this particular one or suggestions of a better one. And from anybody on here that has installed a modulator what kind of issues did you run into during installation or after installation.

I've put them in cars before. I've never heard one that didn't have bad static. I would not be able to stand listinening to one, but thats just me, I'm big on SQ.

FM mods are clear, but you get what you pay for...and try to place it above the HU, i dont know why but every time i place a FM mod or my sirius it gets crapy SQ when its below the headunit

EDIT: i didnt see your link befor...yes if its a wired mod then it will be really clear, might sound a tad bit better if you had a aux in, but the wired mod will be good

igf you go fm modulator definately get one that actually plugs in between your antenae then it should be clearer.


do you have a tap deck? on my 96 I could not get auxilary inputs after two different rf's. I just pulled went to a tape adaptor. stuck it in, then removed the sterio. placed it on a work bench removed the face plate and ran the wire downand along the bottom of the unit and reinstalled the face plate.

I have no visable wires but I can;t use the tape deck for anything else now. whihc I never would have.

I guess I will get the modulator and see what happens. Maybe I'll even do a write up/pictures when I do it if you guys seem interested.
