Hey guys.... I need to verify if I must get different valve covers if I put on roller rockers???

Also... on the Gt40 regular...are they the pedestal mount or stud mount?? Same for X heads...

24lb injectors... I already have the Granatelli MAF sensor...do I need to reprogram my computer.....

Any answers are greatly appreciated

I've got the same question about vale covers...

Explorer58V8,
What all do you have done to your truck other than whats listed in your profile? Mid 14s seems pretty quick for just a cam and heads. I'm not doubting your numbers, just want to know what you've done to it. Are the GT-40X heads really worth that much power? Did you do everything at once or separate? If seperate, how much power did you get out of the E303? I was thinking about putting an E303 and Roller Rockers in this summer but wasn't sure what kind of gains to expect. Thanks.

Hello!

Lets see if I can help here... The valve cover will probably clear if your using the Crane Cobra R/R's if they do hit it will probably be very light contact in one place that could possibly be fixed by slightly massaging the area with a hammer... If you don't like that idea then you can use the thick type cork V/C gaskets and use two per side with a little silicon gasket maker in between... one of these plans will work!

Just my two cents about the E cam... It will work and probably make an explorer faster especially with some good heads but you might be better off with something a little smaller considering the heavy weight of an X and low RPM shift points... now if you want to use killer heads and raise you shift points to 5500- 6000 then that's a different story...

Good luck!

Who's FMS? Do they have a site?

nevermind, found the site.

1. dont know about the valve covers.

2. the GT-40 heads, in stock form, are pedestal mount.

3. you dont need to reprogram the computer with the 24 lb. injectors, but anything bigger and you need a recalibrated mass air sensor to work with them. i will say you could get Troll to burn you a diablo chip and gain some decent power that way. i will say IMHO use 1.6 roller rockers, not 1.7. all the 1.7's do is shift the powerband up in the RPM range, and you will loose even more low end torque. not an issue if your runnin' a blower and have mondo-power, but with the weight of an X you need to keep the powerband more in the midrange to be fast.
