Good Morning,

I am a volunteer fireman...bought standard fog lights, replaced blubs with "strobes". Since the strobes are wired to a control box (2 wires out (blk/red & red) for a quick plug connection could I run the 2 wires to a cigarette lighter plug and use it versus installing a switch? Also, between the 2 wires which is hot? It would seem red would be but I've been wrong before. :salute:

Did you read the instructions that it came with? I don't know what company you're using but I know that Whelen explains it pretty well.

That's the problem...no instructions came with it - Pilot WI200.

Hi there!

You might want to ask Boomer12... he knows about emergency lighting.

I did some quick searching and wasn't able to find the instructions online, but I would be willing to assume that solid red is indeed +. Secondly yes, you could wire it to work with a 12v cigarette plug as long as you get +/- right. Lastly don't count on these as a primary warning light, since they're most likely not going to be very bright at all. Don't get me wrong as I'm not trying to discourage you, but when it comes to emergency grade warning lights you definitely get what you pay for.

In comparison click here for something with a little more punch...

...and just to make sure we're on the same page, is this it???
