I just have to say it's an honor to be able to read your threads. You are scholars and gentlemen, it's so hard these days to find someone to lend there knowledge the way you guys do. Greatly appreciated!!! I'm sure there are more of you guys out there and i'm sorry if I didn't mention your name but you know who you are and I'm sure everyone here does also. My question is even with everything disconnected my trans is still locked in neutral, rev., 1st and 2nd. I dropped the pan, fuild clean no parts or shavings. The shaft only spins forward in ever gear except neutral wont spin at all, in any other gear it will but turns very hard. I tryed to pull it with the tractor, truck in neutral all most flipped the tractor. is it possible the trans isn't rebuildable? any thoughts

The z link is fine. I loosened all the bands, took out both driveshafts, I am in the process of taking out the trans now, but things are slow because I have a lot of nerve damage in the upper body and bad discs in the lower back. Once I get it out I'll let yas know what I found.

but things are slow because ...

give yourself some credit, thats no easy job
im a reasonably built 19y/o that just dropped a tranny, it took more than a while and i don't want to be doing it again anytime soon.

Back in the 70s and 80s I use to change motors, trans and rearends in snow clear up to my ass I know what im up against. I love doing these things but it's getting harder. But thanks for the words of encouragement.[Greatly appreciated]
