With the combination of heat and rain the adheasive will go overtime. Especially this scoop where in some areas aren't completely flush with your hood. I would try to bold it in place and then mold it with your hood for that one-piece look.
A lot more work than the double sided tape for sure but I think BM (your truck) deserves the extra work.
Hey Robb, wanna explain your vacuum theory? The only vacuum I could see would be with a rear facing hood scoop. And in this instance, the vacuum would be drawing the hot air out of the engine compartment ~ due to Bernoui's principle and the low pressure caused by the air rushing over the scoop.
The one here is front facing, meaning if it were functional, there would be no way that it wouldn't shove air down into the engine bay.
But don't take this engineering student's word. I'd love to see evidence proving your theory.
