2003 Explorer Eddie Bauer
Hello everyone! I decided to post some issues my vehicle (Ford Explorer 2003 Eddie Bauer Edition) has been going through lately, but only because I couldn't find any posts with the similar symptoms.

OK, so problem number one. Whenever i make a 3 point turn/Broken U Turn my vehicle will simply shut down. When shutting down, it would read "Check charging system". This also happens whenever I'm parallel parking. Seems to occur sometime in between stepping on the brake and shifting from Drive to Reserve. I was wondering if the Alternator could be the issue here. To avoid the problem i parallel park VERY slow and i avoid 3 point turns altogether.

Problem number 2. My battery died about a month ago, so i bought a new one. This past weekend I tried remote starting my vehicle and saw the head lights turn on. The engine did not start. I heard what sounded like a spark. When i got into the car, the radio and internal lights were on. When i inserted the key and turn it the engine didn't rev or turn on. I kept trying to turn the key and no sound was being made. When my battery died, i tried starting the vehicle, clicking sound was present. This time, nothing. I tried 5 minutes later and the car started. It's worth noting that the temperature outside was about 5 degrees. I don't believe it was the cold because whenever similar weather conditions occured the engine would still try to turn on or made noise as i turned the key.

Lastly, problem number 3. When I am driving and have the heater on, I smell some sort of burning. I don't know if this is common when you have the heater on but i have noticed it more recently. The engine never overheats and when i pop the hood there is no smoke.

Those are all the issues that i can think of that have stuck out the most. Any opinion would greatly assist. Thank you for taking the time to read it.

My wild-ass guess? Loose/poor connection at battery or alternator.
