I was lookin at a 1998 ford explorer. Is it possible to do a burnout in it? I was told that when it slips it automatically goes into 4 wheel.

yes. get a 2wd one then it wont go into 4wd. Or swap super deep gears into. Or stand on the brake pedel then hold the engine rpms around 2000 for about 10 minutes. make sure you get the tranny fluid super hot cause it helps the A4LD tranny lock up better and and will make the burn outs just super huge like funny car size. Of find an icy parking lot. or get on a dirt road. or rev the motor to about 5000 rpm in nuetral then slam the shifter into drive. So yes it is possible to do a burn out in an explorer.

Is it possible in a 4X4? yes...Is it something you should try? no. You will tear something up unless its been modified.

to keep it from automaticly engaging the 4 wheel drive do what is called a brown wire mod I think it is called. do a search for it. i remember reading about it. by the way I can power brake my 92 with 32's on it so yes it can be done. good luck to you.
