- 93 4 dr 4x4 manual XL.
Hey I can`t find any info regarding the strength and or maintenance of the ford manual hubs.
I did a little research before buying my 93 Ex, and found one with manual everything to avoid the tranny and auto hub problems.
I`ve wondered wether I should attempt to take the hubs apart and lube them periodically, but don`t know the correct proceedure or even if it is neccessary, it doesnt seem to explain it well in my chilton(haynes?) manual.
Also, I haven`t read about anyone needing to replace a manual hub!
The reason I`m asking is that I have thought about getting some of those Warn upgraded locknuts because I have had them come loose a couple times. I thought maybe I should get the Warn hubs too, since they are stronger right? Then I could have a couple spares, just in case. But if my Ford ones are never going to break, then I shouldn`t worry.
I don`t even know who makes the ford hubs, now that I think about it.
Thanks for reading my post!
