Hi all,
I bought a new 2001 Ford Ranger XLT 4.0 in 2001. I haven't used it much, only 38,000 miles on it and now the fuel pump has gone out. How best to replace it and with what brand to replace it with. Also is there a chip that will give better fuel milage? I only get between 12 and 14 mph around down and around 23 on the highway.

Welcome to this forum! Don't waste money on performance chips. Get a custom tune. You have to remove the gas tank to replace the fuel pump. Don't forget to replace the fuel filter. Check the fuel pump relay before you replace the fuel pump.

Like Brooklyn said, go with a custom tune. Most people here have gone with a Henson Tune and have been happy with it.
