2004 Rxplorer XLT
Just registered and looking around. We bought a 2004 XLT off the showroom floor new. It was transferred in from another dealer in Texas with the color & options we wanted. Plus it has a Supplemental Security System.
It has always been too sensitive to sound. We took it back to our dealer, but they knew nothing about it. They would tell us it was adjusted as far as it will go for outside noise. We've dealt with it for a decade now. Any thunder sets it off, or loud vehicles.
Problem is a new (young) driver in the neighborhood with an older loud pickup.
He drives by about 5:00 am most mornings & must get a rush from setting off the alarm.
Does anyone out there know how to adjust this? Not setting the alarm is not an option, it arms itself 20 seconds after the doors are locked.

if there are older articles I missed, show me a link, Thanks.

Was the supplemental alarm an aftermarket or one of the dealer's system I, II or III alarms. If it was an aftermarket look at the black box to check for the manufacturer and then go to your local car alarm installer for this manufacturer for assistance. Dealerships don't do these and subcontracts it out.
