Is there a definitive way to tell if I have "keyless entry" only, or the actual security system with an alarm? I have the flashing LED on the dash, horn chirps when i double-tap the lock button. But when I open my door from inside, after activating, nothing happens. Is there a door code or something to know for sure, or does that pretty much mean I don't have the alarm?

Thanks in advance.

Make sure you unlock the door with the keyless entry before jacking up a wheel. It was a bit surprising when the horn started going right next to my ear as the front wheel left the ground during a home tire rotation. I guess there is some kind of security sensor for avoiding tow aways. Beyond that I dont know the security system features.

If you press the lock button, and then the theft light stays on for 5 seconds straight, then that means you have the security system.

You can also try to leave the driver window down, lock the car with the remote, wait a few mins and then try to reach in and unlock the door. If the horn goes off, then you have the perimeter alarm.
