Ford LED Brake Light Fix
[version 1] $40.00

This product addresses concerns of no torque converter lock-up when the vehicle is equipped with after-market LED tail / brake lamps.

The problem occurs because the LED brake lamps will allow a build-up of voltage on the brake lamp lead when the tail lights are on.

The ECM sees this voltage, and interprets it as the brake pedal being depressed, thus not allowing the converter to lock-up.

This product was added to our catalog on Saturday 27 October, 2007.

Nothing is simple with our trucks is it?

I stumbled upon this thread AFTER replacing all my lights with LED bulbs...

What about just adding the incandescent bulb back to the circuit after the LED bulb? Wouldn't that allow you to still gain the quick response of the LED without the resulting problems or spending 40 bucks on a unknown device to fix the problem?

Its been suggested before.... I am unable to read the article, but you implied that they shied away from the use of the load resistors. Adding a incandescent bulb downstream from the LED seems like it would solve lots of problems.... I'm not saying its a good solution, just a possible one....

Do you know any details about the fix device? Like what exactly it is or where it installs? Does it just fix the TCC problem?
