So my Ford Explorer 2013 Limited is giving me hard times.. First I was driving and randomly all electronics went off, back on and back off again. So i'm driving and non of the electronics is working, including speedometer. I stopped, turned the car off, and then it wouldn't start again. Start button does not respond at all. Towed it to the dealer, the restarted the PCM module and same evening i was coming home when heater randomly started blowing hot air and would stop no matter what i tried. Came home, turned it off and now it doesn't start again. Please help!

The only help is to take it back to the dealer. You have a significant electronics issue - and it should be under warranty.

My 2014 did a similar thing in April of 14 with about 6000 miles on it. While driving home from a long trip all electronics shut down suddenly. Engine did not so we drove with no dashboard, turn signals radio, ventilation for about 15 miles until we could drive directly to a Ford dealer in Madison WI. Drove into service dept, had to manually pull up the door lock to get out, put the car in Park and could not shut it off. Turned the ignition off, took key out but engine continued to run. They were completely stumped, only option was to open hood (thank god the hood release is mechanical) and remove cable from battery + side. They waited 10 seconds hooked it back up and everything was fine, a hard reset. They pulled codes but as you can imagine every system in the car threw a code so it was impossible to pinpoint the issue. Only choice would be to replace the ECM or BCM or whatever Ford calls it. The dealer did not carry one anyway so we took a chance and drove the 125 miles home. It has been fine ever since with no incidents. Please post what the dealer tells you.

FWIW no posts similar to my experience have been posted since then.

I tried the hard reset, didn't do anything so it has to be something else. Taking it to the dealer today, will post the update. Thank you!

Update: So after few days they said that the issue "is probably caused by dashboard wiring problems" and it will cost me around $1700, while "they can't guarantee anything". Not sure if i'm satisfied with the answer because just yesterday they said it's ether APIM or PCM modul needs to be replaced.

The car had a minor accident on the back prior to me so i guess warranty is over and i'm all on my own.. :( Unless Ford will step in and help out, which would be so awesome!
